In 2011, the London Review Bookshop issued two limited editions of Julian Barnes’s The Sense of an Ending, one quarter-bound in leather (75 copies) and one full leather (25 copies). The text block of both editions is tinted green, as pictured.

comprising 100 copies housed in a cloth slipcase
of which 25 have been full bound in leather
numbered I to XXV and 75 quarter bound in the

The bindings have been designed by
Andrew Stilwell and the books have been bound by
The Fine Book Bindery, Finedon, Northants, under

First State Dust Jacket with Man Booker Sticker

After winning the Man Booker Prize, Alfred A. Knopf placed stickers on the first state dust jackets that state, “WINNER | OF THE | MAN | BOOKER | PRIZE”. This example is from the 2nd printing.


Second State Dust Jacket

Following Barnes’s Man Booker Win, Knopf issued a second state jacket with “WINNER OF THE | 2011 MAN BOOKER PRIZE” displayed at the top of the jacket front.  The back of the jacket also included a newly placed quote with white lettering in a black box to the top. The blurbs were also changed to reflect quotes from U.S. reviews. This example is from the 16th printing.
