Julian Barnes scholar Vanessa Guignery edited the volume, which includes an extremely detailed biographical chronology and essays titled  “Au cœur de la création: une lecture des archives de Julian Barnes” and “Julian Barnes essayiste : un observateur de son temps et d’autrefois.”

The volume also contains numerous photographs and illustrations supplied by Julian Barnes and his bibliographer.
